REVIEW: Burger King Addams Family Meal

What happened to Burger King? It was great when I was younger (I’m in my thirties), but every time I get it now, it’s terrible. But I must review all limited edition fast food items for you, the people. You can read my last Burger King review here.

I recently had the chance to try the Addams Family Meal at Burger King, and here’s my take on the spooky limited-time menu.

First up was Wednesday’s Whopper. As expected, it tasted just like a regular Whopper, which isn’t a bad thing. The flame-grilled patty, fresh veggies, and Swiss cheese delivered the familiar Whopper flavor. However, mine was a bit over-sauced, which made it somewhat messy to eat. The signature purple bun, while fun to look at, didn’t add any extra flavor. It’s purely for the Halloween theme, but I did notice that it was slightly tougher than the usual Whopper bun, which gave it a more premium feel. Overall, I’d rate it a 6/10. The look was cool, but it didn’t wow me beyond the typical Whopper experience.

Next, I tried Gomez’s Churro Fries. Unfortunately, these didn’t impress me. They mostly tasted like vegetable oil, and the cinnamon-sugar dusting was much heavier on the sugar than the cinnamon. Personally, I found them too sweet. The chocolate dipping sauce was your standard fast-food chocolate sauce, but it was too runny, which made dipping the churro fries a bit difficult. I’d give them a 3/10. They weren’t terrible, but definitely not something I’d order again.

The real star of the meal was Morticia’s Kooky Chocolate Shake. This shake was fantastic! The crumbled brownie pieces added a great texture contrast to the creamy shake, and the cake batter fudge at the bottom was my favorite part—it tasted exactly like real cake batter. My only complaint was the straw—it was too thin for a thick shake. Still, I’d give it a solid 9/10. Definitely worth a try! If you order this, don’t push the straw to the very bottom of the cup or else you’ll drink all the cake batter first.
