REVIEW: SuperSONIC Jalapeno Double Cheeseburger

I was eager to try Sonic's SuperSONIC Jalapeno Double Cheeseburger, a regional offering according to Sonic's website. However, my experience with this double cheeseburger left me with mixed feelings, especially after having recently enjoyed the Sonic Smasher Smashed Burger.

Check out my last Sonic review of the Sonic Smasher here.

jalapeno burger

The beef patties on the SuperSONIC Jalapeno Double Cheeseburger are typical Sonic quality, which I found to be lacking. It's noticeably lower in quality compared to the delicious patties on the Sonic Smasher. The bun was also standard, falling short of the excellent potato bun used in the Smasher burger.

One of the main issues I had with this burger was the choice of mustard as the only sauce. Paired with pickled jalapenos, it resulted in an overly acidic flavor profile. Fortunately, the mustard was applied lightly, which helped mitigate this issue, but it still felt like an odd pairing.

Despite these drawbacks, I did enjoy the SuperSONIC Jalapeno Double Cheeseburger, though it didn't stand out as anything special. It might be worth a try if you're in the Seattle area and looking for something with a bit of heat, but don't expect it to rival Sonic's other offerings. Overall, I'd rate it a 5/10.
