REVIEW: Jack In The Box Mummy Wrapped Monster Taco

This Halloween-themed taco is definitely a unique spin, but there were a few things that stood out to me.

First off, the nacho cheese is really overpowering. Combined with the slice of American cheese inside the taco, it becomes way too cheesy for my liking. I love cheese, but this was just too much. The regular taco is usually crunchy, but this one wasn’t as crispy, probably due to the soft flour tortilla wrapped around it. That said, the tortilla adds a new texture that makes it interesting.

One thing I did appreciate was the reduced amount of lettuce. Normally, I think Jack in the Box goes overboard with the lettuce, so the lesser amount here was a good move. While some might compare it to Taco Bell’s Double Decker Taco, I’d say it has its own flavor and texture profile that makes it stand apart.

Overall, I’d give the Mummy Wrapped Monster Taco a 6/10. It’s fun to try, but the combination of too much cheese and lack of crunch wasn’t quite for me. If you’re into super cheesy tacos with a softer bite, this might be more your style.
