REVIEW: Subway Pepperoni & Cheese Dipper

What’s the deal with Subway lately? Customers have been leaving the brand since $5 foot longs became $12. They’ve tried changing everything about the sandwich process, except the bread. Make better bread and people will come back.

Unmelted American cheese

When I first tried Subway's Pepperoni & Cheese Dipper, I had high hopes. The flatbread is made from lavash bread, which turned out to be quite tough. Unfortunately, the cheese inside wasn't melted, although the bread was so hot it was hard to handle. If the cheese had been melted, the bread's texture might have worked better. The use of American cheese seemed like an odd choice for this. On a positive note, the pepperoni was fine, spiced well, and the Chipotle sauce was amazing as always. Overall, I’d rate this snack a 3/10.

Despite the flaws, the pepperoni’s spice and the delicious Chipotle sauce are redeeming qualities. However, the combination of tough bread and unmelted cheese significantly impacted my experience. Another swing and a miss from Subway. I have no desire to try the other 2 variations of the dipper and recommend you avoid this one.
